The history of The Holiday Inn Royal Victoria Sheffield began when the hotel, built of red brick and Pennine stone was officially opened on the 28th July 1862 by the Sheffield Hotel Company. The hotel added the ’Royal’ prefix following a visit in 1875 by their Highnesses the Prince and Princess of Wales, later King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra. The hotel has enjoyed further royal patronage including visits from Queen Victoria in 1897 and Princesses Elizabeth and Margaret in 1947. The Holiday Inn Royal Victoria Sheffield offers you all the comforts you would expect from a modern hotel, combined with the character of a Grade II listed building.
One of the most striking features of this Grade 2 listed building is the elegant Ballroom which can accommodate up to 380 people for a banquet / dinner and also boasts a further 14 meeting rooms.
